The grass, really the weeds, are finally starting to pop their heads out. The mustard is always the first one to show. I have been watering with a smaller sprayer. After it gets the weeds wet enough and I move the sprayer I carry a plastic bag and knife. I start pulling out the weeds or cutting them out if they are too close to the ground.
Today we had some fog and all the ground is wet. We really need some real rain for the wheat crops. They are in really sad shape. I have decided, since the rabbits are so plentiful this year, our dog that kept them away died last year and the dog we have now just looks at them, I am going to try to find perennials that taste terrible. Am going to replant our Virginia Creepers that died out last year. We have that on the west side of the house to shade the house in the evening.

My quilting - Am doing an Applique B-O-M from the fatcatspatterns.com Am on the second block and have the other three blocks prepped and ready to go. And here it is almost time for the next block to come up on her site. I have my Dr. Seuss quilt top done and the binding ready. Now am working on an A-B-C quilt. I did not like the way the frame went around each block so unstitched them and now am going at a slower pace and paying better attention to sewing in the correct area.
I have a quilt idea in my brain for several years. Now that I have the time. I need to get the fabric out and see if the pattern I want to use will work with that fabric. I am feeling that the quilt will need to be made in sections and quilted that way then put it together. This will be a quilt for our bed. Feel it will be a winter quilt.
